The island of La Palma is one of the best places in the world for hiking. Its routes through the volcanoes, in the laurel forest, between tunnels carved into the mountain to obtain water to irrigate the crops, in picturesque places that lead to natural pools, or in the centre of the volcano that animates the island, the cauldron of Taburiente, with a camping area inside, a stream and the waterfall in 7 colours, makes hiking a jewel for lovers of nature.<\/p><\/div>

Caldera tour<\/h5><\/div>

Unforgettable views throughout the day and of course many moments to take unique holiday photos. In the small town of Los Llanos de Aridane we pick up the guests, who arrive with their own car and then we start the journey to the starting point of the tour.<\/p>

At first, we go uphill through a residential area in order to get into the giant crater, at the other side of the crater we go up again, to a starting height of 1081m to the view point Los Brecitos; starting point of the hiking tour. This trip is already a real adventure for many guests, on a small serpentine road through the crater, also in this approx. 40 minutes drive they have spectacular views. Even if it seems adventurous for the experienced bus drivers of the island it is a normal transfer and without any difficulties.<\/p>

We drive through an area called Finca del Cura, a small collection of houses and fincas which are a clear example that in the past this area was a very important agricultural area, with enough water. Passing avocadofinca, orange trees and other fruit trees we are accompanied by Canarian pine trees in the last part of the trip until we are allowed to get off the bus in Los Brecitos.<\/p>

Now we have a moment to arrive and get ready for our special hiking day in the National Park of the Caldera; then we start. The hiking path leads us continuously downhill during the whole day, there are some easy sections and those that surely cost us a little more. If you do longer tours, this hike should not be a problem.<\/p><\/div>
