Casa Carmen

Casa Carmen is a traditional country house that delights with its Canarian charm, which comes from the beautiful high wooden ceilings and windows/doors, among other things.

The large wooden terrace with a view of the entire surrounding area, including the vineyards of Las Manchas and the Atlantic Ocean, is particularly popular with holidaymakers.

The house is entered via the terrace through the living room, from which all other rooms lead off.

To the left are the two bedrooms, straight ahead the bathroom and to the right the kitchen with the pretty, comfortable dining area in front of the sea view window. The kitchen has a door to the outside. A small counter separates the actual kitchen area with kitchen unit and cupboards from the dining table with five chairs.

The cosy living area with sofa and two armchairs as well as satellite TV also offers a small desk and a reading corner, also with German books.

On cooler winter days, there is a large fireplace in the living area, which can also heat the whole house.

There is a covered terrace with a seating/dining area directly in front of the house.

The large wooden terrace has room for two deckchairs, a parasol and a small table. From here you have a wonderful view of the vines embedded in the black lava sand below the house and of the sea. A small separate terrace offers a lovely place to enjoy the sunset or have a barbecue.

location:
The centre of Las Manchas is around 400 m away on foot. There is a corner shop, a petrol station, a German-speaking doctor and a well-frequented restaurant/bar "El Americano" with good home cooking at absolutely fair prices. The very popular restaurant "Bodegon Tamanca", which reopened its doors to numerous local and tourist guests in 2023 after a break of almost 2 years due to the volcano, is 1 km away.

Approx. 900 metres below the house is the famous sight "La Plaza de la Glorieta", designed by the famous Palmerian mosaic artist Luis Morrera, to whom the new, elaborate star mirador above Tijarafe is also dedicated.
The wine museum is located above the Plaza Glorieta. There is also a restaurant just a few metres from the square: El Secadero, which is known for its fresh meat specialities and otherwise offers rustic Canarian cuisine. If you drive up the Secadero, you will come to the Caños del Fuego volcano visitor centre, which offers guided tours through the old (!) lava caves, among other things. 

The nearest beach, the sandy bay of Charco Verde, is just under 9 km away (12 min drive), the nearest large supermarket is currently in Los Llanos, as long as Puerto Naos is still closed.

You can start hiking directly from the house. Various paths/hiking trails take you to both the sea and the mountains.
