Every region is different

La Palma has many different regions within a small area. It has 11 different microclimates. During your holiday you will get to know the cultural diversity, the gastronomic differences and the different wines of the island. Enjoy your stay on the island in the area that attracts you most and you can return with the memories of your holiday on the island.

Central West - El Valle

Tazacorte

Tazacorte is divided into „Pueblo“ and „Puerto“. It is the first municipality on the island where the Spaniards landed and were founded. It is the area with the most hours of sunshine in Europe, where you can enjoy the beach, the places where you can eat fresh fish from the island or have a cocktail and watch the beautiful sunset over the Atlantic Ocean.

Los Llanos

Los Llanos is the second capital of the island with more inhabitants, in whose streets you can walk, in whose shops you can find some bargains. Art galleries, art parks and street art in the form of facades on the buildings accompany you and you can enjoy a coffee among the many Indian laurels brought from Cuba 100 years ago. Perhaps it will coincide with a concert in the main square.

El Paso

El Paso, the largest municipality on the island, which includes the Caldera de Taburiente, where you can go hiking, take a break in one of the restaurants and enjoy mystical landscapes. Absorb some of the palm culture by discovering the Silk Museum, for example. Cross the „caños de fuego“, volcanic tubes in which the lava has left caves to be discovered.

Northwest

Tijarafe

Tijarafe, a traditionally rural town whose population is understood between ravines. Where the houses always enjoy through their orography a view of the Atlantic Ocean and the other side in the pine forest that crowns the island. Puntagorda

Puntagorda is one of our customers„ favourite places because of its rural charm and connection to nature. Enjoy the “Mercado de Puntagorda" market, where you can savour a sugar cane juice or a freshly squeezed mojito at your leisure. A landscape that will give you back the inner peace stolen from the big city. You can walk along footpaths that pass through excellent vineyards of the island's wines, as if you were walking through dragon forests.

Garafia

Garafia is one of the communities that preserve the wilderness of the island. Its forests and traditional, but ancestral You can still capture the charm of the island without being more inhabited. Places that will be engraved in your heart. Many of the inhabitants live from agriculture and livestock (especially goats, for the sale of cheese, which is very appreciated on the island and abroad).

North East

Barlovento

Los Sauces

San andres y sauces is an incredible place where you can enjoy the intense green of the laurel forest „los tilos“, the natural pools of the charco azul or a charming neighbourhood with colonial-style architecture like San andres.
There you will find one of the most famous hiking routes, the „marcos y lambres“ route, where you can walk through tunnels used for water extraction. Simply spectacular!

Puntallana

Puntallana, it is simply the rural village charm. It has one of the most popular and spectacular beaches on the island for surfers, the beach of „nogales“, one of the enclaves of the island where you can enjoy nature and the inhabitants of the same. Especially its wines.

South

Fuencaliente

Fuencaliente has a marvellous coastline with the largest beaches on the island such as the zamora, the zamora pequeña, a place not to be missed. The salt mines, where they extract one of the world's most valuable salts from the Atlantic Ocean. You can visit one of the last active volcanoes on the island and learn about the island's origins. Enjoy the island's wine regions and make an unmissable stop at the „la parada“ bar, where you can savour the island's typical pastries, its famous almond biscuits and much more.

St. Cruz and east side

Capital St. Cruz de La Palma

The capital of the island, leads directly into its colonial past, where its architecture and history are full of events such as pirate raids and its connection between Europe and America. Its streets invite you to buy bargains or have a coffee in a colonial courtyard. Its new beach, a popular spot for kite surfers, adds to the life there.

Breñas

Breña alta and Baja is a place where you can enjoy the beautiful architecture of the houses you will love. The mixture of agricultural land and palm trees creates a charming natural landscape.

Mazo
