Nevertheless, there are still those sleepy moments when the place seems completely quiet, as if it has fallen out of time.

Not so at the weekend, because that's when Puntagorda has its crowd-puller, the weekly market "Mercadillo", which is located next to the gigantic Izcagua gorge. Locals and visitors alike come from all over to visit and shop for fresh fruit and vegetables from the region, freshly baked goods and famous cakes as well as fantastic handicrafts. Sometimes there is music and dancing and it is always a nice get-together that invites you to do more than just shop. Tip: The vegetables hardly ever taste better, the shopping smells more delicious...!

The centre of Puntagorda is around 3 km away and offers 3 supermarkets, 2 well-stocked organic shops, 1 café with homemade cakes, several restaurants and a really good pizzeria with the fitting name "Smile". Here you can enjoy a delicious pizza in the evening on site or take it home with you. There is also a pharmacy and a petrol station (Repsol).
